New Here!
Hey everyone, I just joined so I thought I'd introduce myself and my flock. I go by Flyingfluff / Fluff / Michelle. I'm currently a senior in college trying to get a degree in psychology and art, so I hopefully get a masters in art therapy. Also, regardless of whether I end up as an art therapist or not, I'd love to start becoming active in bird/parrot rescue/rehabilitation once I graduate and finish with all my schooling.
Anyways... on to the flock! Between me and my boyfriend, we are owned by a total of 11 parrots at the moment. 3 are his and the other 8 are mine. There are 5 budgies, 2 cockatiels, 2 green cheek conures, 1 black headed caique, and 1 hahn's macaw (or mini macaw).
Buddy :: almost 5yo male budgie
Previously bonded to Coco* and is now in an open relationship with EB.
Willow :: 3yo female pied cockatiel
Previously bonded to Merlin*
Zoe :: 4yo female pearl cockatiel
Very neurotic, though is probably the easiest bird to care for in the flock. When I rescued her she had a bad yeast infection and a lower respiratory infection. My AV only gave me meds for 2 weeks because she didn't expect her to make it.
Scooter / Toot-Toot :: 10yo male green cheek conure
Bonded to Booger and the 2 of them share a cage that's in a room separated from the rest of the flock because they are very aggressive and territorial.
He came to me with separation anxiety because his last owner kept leaving him behind when she'd leave for college and his little mate (a budgie) passed away just a few months before I rescued him. Originally he tried to snuggle up with Willow and Zoe, but they didn't appreciate having their space invaded, so I got him a friend.
Booger :: 1yo female green cheek conure
One of my only birds that wasn't a rescue, as she was gotten as friend for Scooter and thankfully they bonded almost immediately and now they are inseperable. Scooter was becoming very pathetic and lonely after I adopted him, as he tried to snuggle up with the t
Nellie :: 9mth female budgie
Mabel :: 2yo female budgie
Patch :: 1yo male budgie
Extreme Budgie / EB :: 9mth female budgie (bf's)
Got her name from the fact that every time we looked at her she was doing something extreme. She's also in an open relationship w/ Buddy
Caesar :: 3yo male black headed caique (bf's)
He's just crazy and one hyper ball of energy. I'm sure you will constantly hear stories about him as time goes on.
Trouble :: >1yo female? hahn's macaw (bf's)
Adopted from a lady who said she was 4yrs old, but she was definitely not even a year yet. Also, she still needs to be DNA tested, but for now we call her a girl. She's very very sweet and is starting to say a few things, though they are hard to make out. Also, she's a compulsive licker.
Coco :: my very first bird and the one who started my passion for parrots. She always had chronic kidney problems her whole life, but managed to live to the impressive age of 9 years old. She was my best friend in the world and when I couldn't bare to leave her by herself when I left for school, I got her a friend- Buddy. They were strongly bonded up until the day she passed. Buddy hasn't been quite the same since, but he's learning to move on with his life.

Merlin :: I had adopted him from another girl who was moving out of state and couldn't take him with her. As much as I loved him, he was never really my bird, par se. His heart was always with his previous owner. He was very loving boy, though a bit neurotic at times. Ex: he once spent 30min singing to my elbow and then proceeded to scream at it. He could wolf whistle and sing the andy griffith tune. Him and Willow were also bonded together, up until less than a month ago when he died suddenly from a broken neck.
